SX66 –Cingular GPRS and Proxy settings, please help

I’m new to this type of device and I have hard time to get this thing to work.
I want to assess Internet, retrieve POP3 e-mail (gmail), and setup AIM.
So fare, I’m unsuccessful due to incorrect settings.
For example:
I got “The session host was not found. Make sure you are connected to the Internet and the host name is valid” when on GPRS connection and try to login to AIM.
I use:
Host: login.oscar.aol.com
Port: 5190
Can someone please, walk me trough with GPRS and Proxy settings?
Thank you.

Hey bro.....I have the S66 w/ Cingular also and had the EXACT same problem that you just described when I first got my phone when I tried to access the web. There are a couple of things that could possibly be the problem but the best thing to do is take it to the Cingular store and have them look at it (luckily I did that rather than waste time trying to troubleshoot it)BECAUSE...........after looking at it for a number of minutes the Cingular rep figured it out and it was a SOX issue.....BUT the twist is the files are invisible to users.....and the only way possible on earth to view the settings related to it is thru a Cingular rep's computer. Trust me it will more than likely save time...........

Here are the settings that worked for my SK65:

First, you need to set up a GPRS profile. The profiles you set up for internet, email, etc. use this profile to connect (thats what threw me off at first). On my phone it is found under setup -> connectivity -> Data Services.
First, give the profile any name (I called mine GPRS Wap). Also, if you have an option, make sure the profile is under GPRS settings, not CSD settings. Lastly, make sure that GPRS is enabled on your phone (again, for me this is turned on in the setup menu). The settings are:
APN: wap.cingular
Login: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (must be ALL CAPS)
Password: CINGULAR1 (must be ALL CAPS)
DNS 1 &2: leave blank (000.000.000.000)

Once this is done, an internet profile needs to be set up. To do this I go to Surf & Fun (where I can get on to the internet) -> setup -> profiles. Give the profile any name (I named mine "internet"). Note: these settings are for WAP, not HTML. The settings are:
homepage: http://device:home
Protocall: WAP/WSP
Gateway/Proxy Server ID: Cingular Wireless Internet Express
Address: 66.209.11.61
Port: 9201
Username Proxy: (leave blank)
Password Proxy: (leave blank)
GPRS Linger Time: 0 minutes
CSD lingertime: 30 seconds
Connection Profile: GPRS WAP
(note: the last setting GPRS WAP is very important. it is the name of the profile I set up in the first part. It must connect to this profile to get on to the internet)
