Tri-band phone in Penn and Florida

I have a razr but I'm getting a panasonic g51 for my girl and she lives in philly. I'm thinking of picking up a triband phone in the future for my own use, and I live in florida. I'm running att/cingular right now. I know both penn and fl markets have both 850 and 1900.
I'd like some people with personal experience about this. Do you have reception problems compared to a quadband?
