I just bought a OEM Siemens S40 Handsfree Kit (leather case and Handsfree included) for $44 at the Staple Store. I feel this is so expensive for me, but don't know where to buy it except this place. I check the Daydeal.com, they have one for $9.99, but it's not OEM product. Does anyone bought one of this, is that work? Since the site say this HandsFree is good for many phones, like Nokia 5100, 6100, 3360, 8200, Ericsson T28...........and many others, so I just doubt if this is work fine for Siemens S40. I am so confuse......

nokia handsfree and siemens handsfree are totally different

you just can't plug the handsfree into your siemens phone

they have different plug

Yup, diff plug... thats why when you place an order you tell them which phone you want to use it with!

Ya, even my aftermarket handsfree kit for the (Bosch) S40 won't work with my Siemens 3568i. Does anyone which standard Siemens will adopt for future phones or keep both.

The S35(68)i plug is the Siemens standard and will be kept for future devices. The S40 plug is a Bosch legacy.

So does that mean the S40 plug is a unlike ALL other Siemens phones? So does that mean that future Siemens products not specifically made for the S40, will not work with it?

Ooh, Bosch... haven't heard that since the S40/S42 was first announced. Since we have Bosch in the mix, thats what it looks like - a unique connector just for the S40!

That's where Nokia messed up royall with the 6100 series. Now Siemen's does the same thing. Do you realize how many cool headsets are out there that use the standard 2.5mm plug? Plantronics makes some awesome ones but we cannot use any becaues of the proprietary plug.

ya, and it's not like it has bluethooth or anything that could take care of that...but then again, i havn't heard anything good about those (ericsson) wireless headsets. right now, is there REALLY a use for BT?
