What is the advantage/disadvantage of having the GPRS attached all the time, or not?
I have mine not attached at the moment, I think when i hit the browser it takes slightly longer to start up because it has to activate GPRS, but other than that I seen no problems. I also wonder if the GPRS is attached all the time, if it can be using some unnecessary bytes from my precious monthly limit.

I've been asking this question myself for a while.
If you put your phone beside an unshielded speaker you will occasionally hear an erratic buzz, not the same as the one you'd hear in a voice call. This is GPRS activity. But detaching GPRS stops this. I leave GPRS attached just to allow it to connect quicker, but I have an inkling that battery life might improve if it is not attached since the above mentioned activity doesn't occur.

Yeah the buzzing near a speaker stops, I noticed that as well. I guess i'll leave it off, I don't mind waiting that extra few seconds while GPRS attaches.
Once I put my phone near my 12" Subwoofer. Good lord, did it make a racket.

I accidentally turned mine on. I have no clue how i did it or how to turn it off. I am not totally ready to start Modding my new 200$ phone yet. Maybe when its a little older than a few days.
Is there another way to turn it off?
