Hi,i read alot about the new upgrade or f/w of the mpx220 by motorola,,some people say that it will be available at the end of this month,others say that it will be released with a version of WM 5.0,.....So if anybody has sure info about what will happen or a useful link,,plz put it,,thanks

The chances of the new ROM having windows mobile 5 is slim to none because Motorola would much rather develop a new device with the new OS. Remember Motorola has to pay for the licences for windows mobile 5, which is costly and I highly doubt they will give it as a free upgrade...just look at Dell...they are going to make it available but for a price.

Of course I can be wrong...

The final ROM 1.40 is supposed to be released in June.

Most likely you only chance to get WM2005 on your phone is going to be to wait until a hacked ROM comes out.

IMO, the 1.40 that is being released around mid June is the final one we'll see from Motorola/Cingular.

The only we'll see a different ROM is if Vodafone updates their ROM.

I would venture to guess that if there is still problems after the new rom comes out there will be other upgrades I would think.

So if it's the final ROM & it fixes everything & any other versions wull be just minor updates& if there are no serious hardware problems,,probably it'll be the most perfect MS smartphone available now!!Do you agree with that??

lol..Hard question. We're just wanting to optimize the capabilities of the given hardware. WM5 and BT dialing would be close to perfect for me.. it has potential....FWIW.
