SMT5600 - Where do I download the install CD?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi,

I purchased the Audiovox SMT5600 online, through eBay. Everything works great! My only concerns were that the phone did not come with the instruction manual and install CD. Since the manual is avaliable for downloading from audiovox.com, I do not have a problem with it not being included. However, the CD needed is missing. Can someone direct me to where online I can download a copy? And if there isn't a place, could it be possible if someone could make me an ISO/CD backup? You wouldn't need a host; we could share it directly.

Thanks in advance,
Nathan.

You don't need an install CD. Download ActiveSync, establish a partnership, and you are in business.

Yeah, I figured that out, like, 20 minutes before reading your post

But now I'm in confusion. Please read my situation, and tell me what the best thing I can do is:

Since switching over contacts from my Nokia 3100 to my SMT5600, my contacts are in disarray. Is there a windows-based app I can easily edit them with, rather than be burdened with a keypad? Also, how do I merge contacts/have multiple numbers under a single contact name?

Thank you for your help, can you please help me with his? Thank you.

If you do not have outlook, then the CD might have been of value to you. The CD contains outlook 2002 and a product installation code for the same. That would have defenitly made your life easier with regard to the contacts.

Definatley get a hold Of Outlook! Makes things a snap!

Will it work with Thunderbird for my emails? I completely merged over from Outlook to Thunderbird a while ago, and have really grown attached to it.

You could probably shop around on ebay or the web and find a licensed copy of Outlook 2002 or even 2003 for less than $35. It would be a good investment for this phone or smartphone or any pocket pc device. Doubt you will be able to integrate with Thunderbird.

Buy Software? Who does that?

Thank you everyone for your help.

I actually have Outlook 2003 from my Office 2003 disk; I just never installed it because of Thunderbird. Oh, well, I'll drag it out. Thanks again!
