Only if the make a ROM with it on it......probablity of that happening.....slim to none...you can thank greedy corporations for that....though it would be nice if they would offer it..even for a price.

It is not a ROM that is the case. Chips are far too expensive to have a customer bring in their phone and swap ROM/EEPROM chips and what not. The main ingredient for Windows Mobile 5.0 has to do with if the system memory can handle it, both RAM as well as space. Most high end pocket pc and smartphones should be able to handle it, if not, there is a good chance that an "unofficial" update will be available and that you can upgrade to test it out.

Noooo not the ROM Chips, the ROM software that carries the OS....the ROM chip is imbedded and I think you would have to replace the whole system board if it needed replacing.
