This version of Tweaks2k2 for SP allows users to free some RAM by adding the Storage Card to the System Search Path and moving then some dlls out of RAM.

I don't think that's legal on a forum, dude. You are hereby punished and must now provide all of us a free copy of the program. Make it free for 24 hours, or give it out to the major posters of the forum, and after we test it and rave about it, people will buy it cause we say it's good.

It's a trade-off you're just gonna have to live with.

Ok, here it goes. The first 3 users to post back here (starting from this post)

1- how many hacks this program includes,
2- your name (owner name) in the way it's used in the smartphone
3- a valid email address

will get a free copy!!!!!!!!!!

Note: User does not post any of these 3 points is going to be disqualified.

Actually, for number 2, in your post above it's just tweaks2k2, but on the website it's tweaks2k2 .net, so I don't know the correct answer.

Number two is asking for the Owner name (your name). It's used to create the registration key.

The email is going to be used to send the key. That's all.

That's what I said.

I bought my MPx220 from Cingular and after a while I found that I could not access some registry keys because even when the phone was SIM unlocked it was up to certain degree what is called "Application locked" so I went and added the option to unlock my whole registry.

There are options that may seem to do not work in some phones but they really do in other phones, that's the case of speeding the display (that increase the font cache so it really increase the speed of some processes) or the windows animation ones.

Other tricks like to activate the cleartype do not look well in some SPs but the point is to give users the freedom of choice.

That's what Tweaks2k2 is all about. I have been working in this program for more than 3 years in the Pocket PC version and now I decided to port it to Smartphone.

yea, I'm really liking the app so far. Is is extremely easy to use! This app is perfect for the person who is scared to tweak the registry themselves.

You need to figure out how to "unlock" (might be a bad word to use) registry entries that get changed back to original OEM setting when rebooting the phone. A perfect example of this would be "Network Selection" is disabled on the Cingular ROM. Sure I can go and use Smartione to edit the reg string but as soon as I powercycle the phone, Network Selection gets disabled again. It's just frustrating more than anything.

Oh yeah, ClearType on the MPx220 looks like crap! (to me atleast)

If you have PHM Registry editor on your phone you can change it on the phone itself, very easy to do. Not as easy as the ATT ROM but its just as good.

I tested out the program a little. Seems great! Phone now shuts down faster. Didn't particularly like the vibrating menus feature. Although it's cute, it's terribly annoying. Did not see any difference after setting animated menus. Phone name can now be changed in the new firmware so that doesn't do anything for me. Speed up display...I can't tell if it works but it seems slightly faster. Disables 3 second delay in ringtone..didn't get a call yet, but I'm really looking forward to this one! Actually, just read the help and would rather it disable the delay at the BEGINNING of the ringtone, rather at the end. More loops in alarm is really good for when I don't wake up in the morning. Obviously the start menu order and MUI order on reboot is great!

So far so good! Since we see that Frank wants to help out smartphone users, why don't we recommend more tweaks and maybe he can add it to a future upgrade.

Can anybody remember which program lets you shorten the amount of time the phone waits for you to cycle thru letters when your not doing T9 texting? The program I'm thinkin of would let you select 1 sec, 1/3 sec, 1/5 sec... and i lost it

Start>Settings>Accessibility>Multi-press timeout.

No, sorry. Definitely male. I just thought the vibrating menus were a bit annoying and weird, and the only expression I could think of at the time was cute - that could be the only reason it's one of the tweaks.

If you want an application unlocker, look for "SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe" and to verify that it worked, look for "CheckLock.exe"

Place checklock.exe on your phone (storage)
go to file manager -> Storage and scroll down to checklock.exe and hit enter (blue button)

Go to my new blog and click on the link to dchesters page, he has a registry edit for the animation thing, you have to use rapidconfig because the key is protected. He has a nice tutorial on how to use rapidconfig as well...I haven't tried this animated thing mainly because it will probably waste memory...so if any of you guys do it give some feedback and tell us how it looks and what is actually animated.
