email does not work anymore

Can any one help me my email does not work any more. I have a p910i on T-mobile. I had my pop account working and then I got a gmail account so I had read on this site that you could have your gmail downloaded to the phone also. After trying to get it working I could not, but when I went back to use my pop account it downloads the headers but not the whole msg. the mail program just closes on its on every time. Help any one

Did you sign into gmail normally and set your gmail options to allow pop mail.

I dont want the gmail account any more I just want my frist account back. The xxxx@optonline.net one this is the one thats not working any more.
I just get a msg that says
program closed
program msvserver
reason code user
reason number 21

Try to delete that setting and start over from the start.

are you talking about going in to control panel>connections>messaging accounts and delete from there because it tryed that all ready.
just tryed hooking up my mothers email account and its works perfect, tryed my account and the mail program closes again. Whats going on here?

do you have any mail in your inbox? try deleting it it may be corrupting the mail program. Bad headers/ or soemthing

Ok I delete all the msg. in the inbox on the phone and on my home computer. But when I click get mail on the phone the same msgs come up that I deleted and when I try to download them the program is still closing.
Thinking about just getting a new email address, just so I can have the email on my phone. (thought that was so cool when I had it up and running)

Does your Desktop computer retrieve the email without problems? Do you have your desktop set to remove messages from the server?
I am sure scuzy is referring to email in your server inbox, not your client on your phone or desktop computer. If there is a corrupt message that is causing the problem, it will likely be one that has not yet been downloaded to the phone.
If your phone is able to collect email from another account, then you know that there is not a problem with the email retrieval on the phone, the problem is with the particular account. The problem could be one of three things:
1. bad settings in the account setup (either corrupt settings or wrong settings).
2. corruption in the server mailbox
3. incompatibly with the client and the server.
To solve the first problem, recreate the email account from scratch and delete the old one (you said you already did this).
To solve the second problem, delete any corrupt messages on the server.
To solve the third problem, you will need to get a different email client.
You know, there also might be an issue with email sitting in the outbox of your phone that can’t be sent. Check to see if the outbox is clear and then try to send and receive.
