Hello,
I have a question and need your help regarding the Audiovox 5600 Smartphone.
I had a blackberry 7100 that was connected to my Pop3 e mail. The Blackberry would constantly check for incoming mail without me having to push the "send and recieve" button like the Audiovox 5600. I would be able to leave my blackberry on my desk and if i stepped away it automatically received my e mail for me.
My question is... Is the Audiovox 5600 capable of checking my pop3 email automatically without me clicking on "send and recieve" option which i have to do now with my AudioVox? Is their an option on the phone that i am missing to have it Automatically check my pop3 e mail.
I currently have have Cingular Service and have added to my plan the Xpress mail and Media net? Does that make any difference for the Audiovox to check my e mail automatically?
Any help would greatly be appreciated...

Do the following:
Start, Messages, Text Messages, Menu, Options, Account Setup, select the email account you want to set up to check for messages at a set interval, Next, Next, Next, Next, Next
Connect automatically and check for messages: "Never" (press the left or right action key to scroll thru the pre made time intervals).

Thanks for the response.. I have tried That but the Audiovox doesn't seem to want to connect to retrieve my e mail by itself. I have to manually click on send and recieve to retrive my pop3 email.
Any other ideas that you might have?

Thats the only way I know of, it works for me. I have it sent to check my mail ever 2 hours. I am using the MPx 220, but both phones use Windows Mobile 2003 SE so it should work the same, technically.

I am pretty much sure, if you have an exchange email account (like from 4smartphone.com or 1and1.com) you can do remote sync over GPRS and that will essentially get your emails to your phone at regular intervals. Even though I have an exchange account I am yet to try this option because I do not have unlimited data option (MediaNet) so may be I will try after June 1st when the price comes down.
Can anyone using this option, confirm my answer.

I use a hosted exchange email account with Mailstreet and added the Activesync option with them. It checks automatically every 5 minutes and it syncs email, contacts and calendar. I could not get the default mail program to sync automatically either as stated in the initial post.
