Yes there is, but I can't remeber the reg key that needs to be edited...

No registry edit for the external display that i remember...just go into Settings\Phone Settings\ and pick Ext. LCD Style 2 and your external display should show just the date and time. However if you don't want the date and time to show and just the external picture with no "Cingular"...then that beats the cr@p out of me.

Here is reg key I was talking about, but I checked my Cingular (1.43) and there wasn't anything there like that.

If you want to just remove it, take the XML file for the homescreen you are using and remove the code that is used to bring that plug-in to the screen. It is the "carrier" plug-in. If you don't know what you are doing, you could email me your XML file and I can do it for you. Let me know.

EDIT: I guess I should read more carefully! I missed the "external" part of your first post and automatically assumed you were talking about your home screen!
