What I mean by standalone is can I just paly music on it with headphones? I know it doesnt have stero loudspeakers, but can I use headphones and be abl to use it as an mp3 player? I know it has realOne.. but can it play over 3 hours of continuous mp3 play?

My main question is wheather it can use headphones with stereo sound or not.

where are u gonna find stereo headphones for the 7610?

it doesnt even support hds-3 or hs-3, the two stereo headsets made from nokia FOR nokia phones with pop-port

forget listening to mp3s on the 7610, only way is to buy a fake hs-3 and hope u get dual mono, and even if u do it sounds like garbage... sounds like a radio from the dollar store

^ actually yes it does...u can get dual mono from "SOME" hds-3...but i donno about the hs-3~

I bought a 7610 and thought the mp3 mono wouldn't be that bad...I was wrong...this is NOT the phone for you if you must have mp3 playback...buy a cheaper s60 phone AND a dedicated mp3 player...my $0.02.
