ok, so i got my data cable yesterday and i have been playing around with my V551 ever since. Until this morning, i was changing a setting with a seem, and i guess the phone didnt like it, wouldnt restart, finally took the battery out, started it up again, and got the white screen of death, so i figured i would flash and flex the phone, well the battery died in the middle of a flash, now on the screen it says "boot loader 07.E0 SW version: r472_g_08.18.40R mem_map blank service Req'd ok to program connect USB data cable", as soon as it says that, i plug in the data cable, but the battery is still pretty dead, and i cant charge the phone either.
Any help, or do i need to bring this in? Which i have no money for right now

Put the battery in someone else's phone and recharge it.I had the same issue , the battery went dead before programming. My friend's E398 did the trick.
If that's not a valid option,go to a local handset store, maybe they'll fast charge it for you by hooking it up with the mains......can't say it would be good for ur battery tho...

Does your data cable have the input for the charger? If so, take the battery out and use the charger and datacable to flash the phone.

well i got it to work. I have my old T720 phone and i used the battery. Even though the battery in the T720 is smaller, i was able to connect the battery connectors to the battery and phone and put an elastic band around the battery and phone and completed the flash/flex
