So I get the phone yesterday... I love everything about it except for battery life... I turned down screen brightness to 50%, have bluetooth turned off, 2 minute timeout for GPRS, GSM selected as preffered.

I have made 5 5 minute calls (I usually do a lot more) and have it set for checking e-mail every 15 mins. It is now 3PM and the battery is at 30% I unplugged it at 7am this morning. If that is the case, I wonder how horrible the battery will be if I do get bbconnect working.. Is there anything else I can do to save battery life?

sometimes i leave my camera on and put my phone in my pocket with full battery and when i take my phone out a half hour later my battery is down to 5%. but then if i close out of the camera a few minutes later my battery life goes back up to like 80 or 90 something %.

also a friend told me this but i dont know if its true...that the more u charge anything from a phone to a rechargeable battery the faster it dies. so if ur phone is at 50% and doesnt need charging and u charge it anyways it will die faster.

i found this to be true on my panisonic gu87 so i started waiting till the very last second to charge it and i actually trained the battery to last longer. it went from needing to be charged once a day to about once every 1 1/2 day or 2 days

I haven't installed any apps but agilemessenger and opera. Neither of them are connected.. I know the camera isn't on as I turn keylock on before i put it in the holster. I charged it last night for the 1st time after it being down at 3% from usage.

I have also had mixed results with battery life. One day it died by 2pm and I had only used is very little. I have done all the same as you have done to conserve battery life. Since the day it totally died, I have not had the problem at all. I have not figured it out.

As far as I know, the battery is LIon, and should not suffer from any "memory effect". But I always charge at night, and take my phone with me all day, just a habit I guess.

i couldn't stand my battery life when i first got my phone but it seemed to get steadily better. at first it couldn't even last 2 thirds of a day. i let it drain totally twice (and stopped playing solitaire) and it's been better ever since.

my battery lasts 3 full days now

I installed Sman and my battery life got better. Sman will allow you to close out unused apps when you are finished with them, instead of them continuing to run in the background using up battery life. Sman has a forced close feature that stops any app once the flip is closed.

Yes, you need SMan 1.4. It has improved my battery by 50%. The trouble with P9xx is even when you close an app it still remains running in the background which drains the battery. By using the 'flip close flush' option in Sman everytime you close the flip it will flush all apps from memory that aren't in your 'snapshot'. Also set Sman to autostart.

If you have to leave bluetooth on, turn off 'viewable to other devices' as this drains the battery more.

Disabling the screen saver will also conserve juice.

its well know that u can never get your battery to work in full capacity untill 2 or 3 charges (after being completely discharged)....,don't worry and be patient

I have the same problem with respect to talk time/standby. I have no idea how all the review sites posted talk times of over 10 hours!! I haven't done any drain tests, but after a one hour phone call, my battery loses 20-40% capacity! At the end of the day, my phone ALWAYS needs charging! This is with Bluetooth, infrared, and GPRS all disabled! I decided to swap batterys with another P910 in our warehouse (we are a cellular phone reseller), and the same results.

Battery life is better then any other phone i've used, but does not come close to what is advertised or reported on all the celluler review sites.

Hmm my Battery doesnt really last long, but i think thats because i got 43 games and 21 other apps installed

Posted by: integron

****, that's a lot of apps and games

I have ZERO apps, and ZERO games installed... battery life still sucks compared to Sony's claimed talk/standby time.

Oh well, what can you do.

Having installed apps and games will not eat up the battery if they are not running.

Games and programs are to be ran
therefor my battery time is low :P
