My Ngage QD seems to be burnt...

Hello everyone!

It's been three weeks since I bought an Ngage QD... and now it doesn't charge.

I first though I had jammed the charger... but the charger and the battery work on another Nokia phone (wich is what I use for charging it now) but the ngage doesn't want to charge.

Tried when it was off, when it was on, with another battery and with another charger.

With the standard charger it doesn't do anything, it's like it hasn't got anything connected to it.
With an ACP-7E from a Nokia 3230 it booted up once (it was off when I plugged the charger) and but when it had to start charging the phone wen off again like if I had putted of the battery.

Apart of that the phone works, but it's a sh*t to need another phone to charge the battery since it lasts for 2 days max. I think it's an electrical problem, something with the two resistors wich connect directly to the pins wich hold the charger connector, but have tried bypassing them with wires and still does nothing... any ideas?

I would go to a Service Center for repair, but, at least in my country (I suppose they will act probably the same way in other countries) the last three times I went to a service center happened this:

#1: Ericsson R600 -> Doesn't power up-> Service center says impossible to repair, battery drain. -> Battery charged OK and phone worked after leaving it 2 months in the box.
#2: Motorola V525 -> Doesn't boot up -> Service center said 200€ for board replace -> The screen connector wasn't properly connected
#3: Siemens C65 -> Robotized sound (board malfunction) -> Went to 4 different service centers where they flashed and reflashed it -> After three months without phone, they made the **** board replace.

So I'm a bit affraid if I send it to the SC I won't see my ngage for three or more months...

Thanks!

Have you tried rotating the charger plug when it is connected to the QD? My older Nokia charger acts up when I plug it straight into my original N-Gage. I get it to work by rotating the plug to the left or right a bit.

shiningangelxx has already tried another battery and another charger. Perhaps you should exchange the phone, shiningangelxx.

It's probably a loose connection in the charger port itself as well.
