New Sanyo scp-7300 Locked firmware?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

As a new user of bell's network I was pleased with the performance of my new Scp-7300. Works fine, good reception and decent sound quality... Yet I wanted more I looked around for a data cable for some more ringtones and images but it seems that bell and/or Sanyo scrambled the fimware so that you can only download picture from the browser and nothing via a usb cable. Anybody can confirm or (hopefully) correct me.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Welcome to the joys of CDMA and Bell Mobility.

Yep - Bell locks the phones and only allows you to transfer the ringtones and images from the browser.

There are some relay services out there that will send you the files. I used to use one at freeringers.net

This is why I switched my phone service to Rogers. No such limitations.

Dang ! I knew it
Thanks for the info sd! it's designed to make money isn't it?
Anyway I'll have to live with it for a while...

If anybody's got a way around this I would appreciate it greatly

Thanks.
