KPD won't detect my phone. Please help

I have a Soho KX1. I have version 3.2 of Kyocera Phone Desktop, with data cable TXDTA10044. I have tried on two different computers and it will not detect my phone.
I do not have a COM PORT SPEED option in my SETTINGS -> ACCESSORIES menu.
Any suggestions?
