Masteruy you need to do your homework. go over to the kyocera website look up your phone and see if there is a compatable desktop software. if not your out of luck. but in theres forums you should be able to find all diffrent versions of the KPD. good luck.

OK onesaint.
In the Kyocera website only exist an "update" of KPD (from very much time ago), and, KPD (the core) is not for free (Kyocera only sells you).
I have the update to v2.4, but I have the KPD v3.2 (to KX1/KX2v)

Thanks for your time !!

KPD SUX! Whatever you do, don't waste your $ on it like I did! It can only send ringtones in KWS format to the phone and I think only monophonic tones are supported in that format. I've read and heard that polyphonic KWS files are possible but I've speant hours/days/weeks searching and couldn't find anything. I finally found a thread on here yesturday http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=279016 about BitPim - it's f&%@in awesome! It's free and you can transfer BMP pictures, MIDI sounds/ringtones, and even MP3 sounds/ringtones to your phone! Just be careful because you could screw up your phone with it.

Could never get bitpim to work at all. I had done everything there was to do and still nothing. Still looking for the kpd. Anyone want to share it or a link thats working? jaytorino@gmail.com or jayntracyg@aol.com

What kind of phone is it? Does Gagin work for it? I have the SE47 and I had a bit of trouble getting BitPim to work but I finally got it (uninstal/disable any devices on the same port as they will cause BitPim or whatever to be unable to open the port. As I said I do not recomend KPD but with some searching you will find a thread on here that lists some values you can at to your registry that will 'trick' your computer into thinking you already have KPD and will then let you install a KPD update off the kyocera site.

Posted by: jaytorino

I have the phantom also. If you dont mind where can i find that gagin program that u use.? Thanks ninja

Posted by: everkleer

Not sure, I never use it. It took quite a while but I finally got bitpim to work. Anyway, just search for gagin on here or on google.

Posted by: jaytorino

Cool found the program but the program or my data cable makes my pc go stupid... Oh well.... My service provider wich is cricket can send ringtones to my phone over the air. So i am going to try and work on that and see if there is a way to send em like that....

I don't know if I'm pointing out the obvious here, but I recently found out that you can drag and drop contacts between KPD and Outlook; woulda made it A LOT easier if I knew that the first time I speant an hour loading contacts...
