Help please

When i power on my Gd87 i get "sim error"

Hmmm I never got a sim eror but Just want to ask a few questions..

Is your phone locked to a specific Provider?
Did you insert the sim card properly?
Is your sim card damaged and does it work in other phones, could be damaged so eror comes up?

I have no idea of the phones history , i bought it basically for parts but as its in good nick i thought it might be worth saving

if you have a data cable, you can use CB2000 to reset the phone and it should clear the error.

I dont have one at the moment but i'll get one , then i'll come back and ask what Cb2000 is and where to get it.
Is it just a standard data cable ??

Thanks for you help

You can make it work with some scotch tape. good luck.

With Scotch Tape ???? i'm intrigued

Just use it to cover a pair of contacts on the bottom connector of the phone. Nothing exotic.

I think your phone might have been blacklisted. It means that it is a stolen phone. No offence but I have just thought of it.

I actually bought it as Uk barred but with an Orange sim inserted i expected to get the usual "sim card registration failure" I bought it for spares which is how it will end up .
Thanks for all replies

Oh i see...

Once I bought a Nokia 8310 from ebay and the selller said that it is unlocked but when I switch on the phone on an O2 sim card, it had 'sim error' on the display. I then send an e-mail to the seller but the seller refused to refund me the money. The seller is a fraudster! Beware ebay buyers!
