Help in understanding new V3

This is what I think of my new V3 so far. Ok, it looks cool and fits neatly in my pocket. BUT the phonebook features are terrible. I can't add text based notes or addresses with each name. The software from BVRP, for which I had to pay to get 'full' funtionality, is unbelievably poor compared to my free Nokia suite, which is so easy to use. BVRP also managed to lock me out of my Outlook PST file & I had to uninstall it - what a waste of $46. If you know Nokia suite you will appreciate my problem - it is a bit limited, but sooo easy to install & use.

Can anyone tell me how I can have my cake and eat it? I'd like the V3 for it's appearance, but the simplicity and functions of my Nokia phonebook and PC software. Is this possible ?

I read somewhere that Tealphone plus and databk4 can be used, but these are for Palms. Does this mean that the V3 uses the same OS? Are these any good?

Many thanks for any help

As to the phonebook - forget it - motorola's idea is cr4p ! Nokia's version
is Sooooooooooooooooo much better. I know I've had both.

The software on the other hand, yes I paid for the "full" bvrp version
and regretted it too - Try MobilEdit!, even the freeware "lite" version
is useful !!!

The Lite version appears to offer full functionailty for 7 days. And the one package supports all phones at the same time, so I can use it with my Nokia too. It's brilliant, and I'll certainly buy it. Thanks for the tip.

However Mobiledit! has confirmed that my damned V3 will not allow me to store more than 2 numbers against a single name. What a pience of dinasaur technology. Most people in this world have at least 3 or 4 (couple of mobiles, office, home, and more..) plus I always need to store a little note or two against a name & I can't do that either.... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Wow, even my V600 allowed more than 1 number per name. That explains why my girlfriend's house phone disappeared when I added her work number.

Breaking news:

Archeologists recently discovered that the software designers at Motorola phones were transported using Doctor Who's Tardis from the late 1980's into the future (about 2003). Thinking with the 1980's mindset that 64kB of RAM was HUGE and believing they had cutting edge thinking, they churned out the beautiful V3. To ensure that they were not distracted in thier task, these ancients were kept in a dark bunker by Motorola management and not allowed to be distracted by the knowledge that the world had moved on, at what would have appeared to them, at near light speed. Historians can only speculate at what powered the deranged brains of the Molorola directorate, and one reference has it that that, like a vampire in the face of a crucifix, they believed thier hands would burn if they ever touched a Nokia handset, never mind contemplate its approach to the user interface.

Today the world views the V3 for what it is - an interesting dinosaur bone - that makes an attractive paperweight, or door stop for those who have no respect for historical relics.
