to my best understanding, IHAP said in thecoming weeks.

but it could be speculative

Posted by: aj&t

It wasnt on the June price sheet, no new models were. Maybe July.

Posted by: I have a phone

June is doubtful.

Posted by: stevefo

**** I want this phone bad. I was at Cingular today and they said the same thing. It was not on their June price sheet. Thay also told me that they will get phones in un-announced also. I hope this is a an un-announced one.

But July is looking good?? I realize that any dates mentioned are subject to change at any moment. Are the speculations of a release price of $400 w/ 2yr. pretty close, or is it going to be more/less?? I'm getting this phone ASAP, so I would like to know.

Yeah we never got the 7610 in any Texas markets, at least West Texas and Dallas markets never got it. Stupid Cingular.

I believe it was $449 w/2yr contract in NYC market.

Posted by: stevefo

Rumor had the 7610 as a delicate phone. If you drop it it would have problems. Cingular pulled it soon after it was released.

Posted by: LoganKI

What IS on the price sheet for June. Could anyone post or point me to a post?

Thanks,

Logan

Nokia 7610 was available to select dealers in atl market at a cost of $579.00

CPE Pricing was
$499 2yr
$545 1yr
$599 no commitment

Corp store got, "NOT AVAILABLE IN GA RETAIL."

I had to look it up, I just remember it being outrageous.

I'm hoping that the 6682 premiers at $400~ w/ a 2 year. I really just can't justify spending more than that, especially with a new contract. Not with it not having UMTS. If it comes out more than that, I'm going to have to wait for the price to drop to that level, sadly. I paid $400 for my 6620, and that was before Cingular even carried it, with no contract. I can't see the 6682 being more than $600 retail.

Maybe you can just wait for the N70. By the time it comes out Cingular should, according to the reps/agents/fans here, have wcdma in some markets. Plus, you'll get 2mp cam--well you know the story.

Is the "b" version supposed to be out that soon??? I"m hearing from reliable sources that UMTS/HSDPA is planned to be out in at least the original 6 ATT cities by Christmas. I'm moving back to Dallas in December, so that's a major factor.

Not sure, but you know if you get the 6682 you are gonna want the N70 (well, atleast that's where I am now), but I can't see spending $1000 for two phones six months apart. I can only hope either Cingular or Nokia wises up. That is: Cingular carries the phones soon(doubtful b/c of the features) or Nokia realizes their future is now. Rising from fourth in US sales isn't going to happen with 6170s, 7270s or 3220s and releasing phones a year after their Euro debut.

Not to get too off-topic, but I kinda half agree with you. Nokia is going to have to wise up with their dealings in the American market. 6170s, 7270s, 3220s, I (sadly) think that those mid-level phones are going to be what brings Nokia back. As a sales person, it's sad to me how people view cell phones. We usually have the LG c1300 for free, and the v551 for $49.87, out the door. I ALWAYS point out the features of the v551, and that the price is $50 less than Cingular's price, even after a rebate, and I watch as people pick the stupid LG time and time again. But I do think that Nokia is going to quickly lose their share of the American marketplace if they do not either begin making quad-band phones, or begin releasing "b" versions at the same time as "a" versions. I'm honestly sometimes tempted to switch to T-mobile just so I don't have to wait for a "B" version.

Don't look for any 3G phones till Christmas time. The 6682 is coming in a few weeks.

I am guessing that when Cingular launches their 3G that they will offer phones from Motorola, Nokia, and I think LG because they had that HSPDA phone at CTIA or the other phone show at the beginning of the year.

I agree, but I also think that Nokia realized this too. Coming soon web page has been over active lately. But, the US gsm network is also behind the rest of the world as of today.

the problem, which has been illustrated over and over, is that Nokia doesn't give a rats arse.
They are slow to field with the gee whiz mobiles they offer in the EU. When they do get them to Operators here they are bug ridden which leads to release delays and cranky subscribers. Maybe some day they will wake up and realize the Koreans are gunning for them day and night

Here here. Americans ARE cheap when it comes to mobiles and I have also thought about switching to TMo just so I can get an "a" version.

When I move to Dallas, I'll probably start getting "A" versions, and just keep a "b" version of a backup, like my 6010 for when I'm out of the area.

good God..... $399 for a glorified 6620 with a slightly better (but still cr@ppy) digital camera.

man, who would spend 400 bones on something thats so outdated?

Lol. Not a "glorified" 6620, just a prettier younger sibling. Remember that the 7610 lacks the EDGE, stereo, and processing speed of the 6620

wow, you're right.

I guess that means that the $399 pricetag for the 7610 is all that much more of a ripoff.

I love the phone. I think one neat feature is that the screen brightness adjusts to the external lighting automatically to compensate for glare. The size and shape is just perfect, the keys are easy to work with, the camera lens is well protected (as opposed to the 6620)...and of course reception is top notch. The perfect companion to the 6230!

I've just heard that the 6682 is trickeling into some states already at Cingular. Can anyone confirm.

son of a $@^&*!! If Cingular pulls the same crap with the 6682 that they did with the 7610, only releasing in few markets at a ridiculous price, and then phasing it out before ever carrying it nationwide, I'm going to be one pissed-off mother $@$%&*!! That crap drives me ABSOLUTELY nuts!! "we're a nationwide company, but different places/regions get better phones at different prices than you can have".

I find that hard to believe since Cingular hasn't even accepted it

Posted by: cfj03

There is a Nokia site for display phones that showed the 6682 for Cingular with available June 15

http://shop.csepromo.com/Nokia/

select catalog and then display phones.

yeah, but i like the 6230 better. 6682 = better choice for me, than the 7610. more options.

Yeah, I have the 7610 and 6620. My thing is the 6620 is better except for the camera and size(better yet, dimensions). And I had 6820, but I longed for 6230 features so I'd like to see a Nokia version of the SE W800i(b/c it has the offmode feature the K750i lacks and comes with a 512mb card) with the 6820/22 fold-out keyboard in the size of the 6230i(or even the size of the W800i). That would do it for me!

logic would say that is when the display is available for order. Not when the mobile will be out.

No duh. But couldn't one also assume that Cingular will atleast be carrying the phone?

Posted by: I have a phone

well yes, one could assume that. I thought this was already ironed out

Posted by: cfj03

[QUOTE=I have a phone]well yes, one could assume that. I thought this was already ironed out [/QUOTE

But this might help in narrowing down the time guesstimate.
Could be helpful for people who might not want to wait forever if the phone isn't going to come out until the N70 is out in Europe (e.g., Nov, Dec or Jan). I for one wouldn't mind giving the K750i/W800i a try if I have to wait until 2006 for a phone that, by that time, will be outdated(i.e., if I want to wait I can just get a 1900 N70; if not I go for the 1900 SE now w/2mp cam).

Posted by: anubis9278

I think what IHAP means is that sometimes display models are made but never reach retail shelves like the moto's a630 and v635. Agreements aren't finalized until certain expectations are met.

But, IHAP knows that Cingular hasn't turned down many Nokia phones within the last 5 years. Right?

But 2, this e-store only thing popped up recently about this phone. If anybody can confirm this I will gladly nuke telesales and the e-store. And raise cingular alert bar status from orange to red.

Posted by: cfj03

I forgot to mention that this link was originally posted by someone else so(maybe Darla the cellphone Diva), if it is helpful/valid, please thank her. If it isn't, I apologize for misleading anyone.

There are very few camera phones with a ccd sensor and sometimes cmos sensors can be as good or even better than some ccd. Here's some pic's I took with my 6682.

Hi all,

I have been reading on the forum for quite some time now and I finally decided that it is time for me to start posting

Anyway, I am very excited about the release of the Nokia 6682, as I am sure many others are as well. I took it upon myself to contact Cingular Wireless to inquire about the release date of the phone. After a couple of phone calls and some time on hold, I was told that the phone is scheduled to release the first week in July.

I am going to try and confirm this and get some more information tomorrow directly from Nokia to see if they can give me an exact date. Hope this helps. I am really looking forward to this phone!

Posted by: johnc_22

If that ends up to be true I'll be a happy camper other than the fact that it will still cost about $400 after selling my soul to Cingular for 2 more years. I've thought about buying an ultra cheap no contract RAZR ($249 at Fry Electronics) and wait a few months for the 6682 to drop in price, but the 6682 is the phone I want as my primary. I've never had a smartphone but think that I'll enjoy the extra features.
