PM-8200: How to turn off the bloody confirmation sound?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm in the process of jumping to Sprint, and I've settled on the PM-8200 and yadda yadda.
Right, so I set about configuring the phone how I want is and all that good stuff, but I can't non-keypad/ring sounds off. For those who aren't aware, the phone plays a chime every time you successfully change a setting, take a picture or the like. It also has error and warning chimes, as well as who knows whatever else. They play--quite loudly--through the external speaker and are driving me up a wall.

Appearantly not all 8200s do this? There's a girl at work with this phone, and she's had it for about six or eight months. She can't remember hers ever making those sounds, so I dunno if she's special, I'm "lucky" or what the deal is.

But I want those bloody sounds off.
TIA.

Does your phone have a Sounds options from the Settings menu? If so, you should be able to select it and it has the options for Ringer/Key volume, Ringer Type, Alerts, etc. You'd select Ringer Type/Key volume if it's the same as the 7400 menu.

Hope, that helps or points you in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply, I figured it out (all not on my own, though). For some reason, the engineers who designed the menu layout (only an engineer would've done this) linked the chimes to the keypad. Thus, to eliminate the chimes, you have to silence the keypad.

Go figure.

Thanks again!
