i live in georgia and i bought an n gage from a t mobile customer in colorado from ebay. i was under the impression this phone was unlocked and could be used with a cingular sim card, and all of the features would work too. well it turns out the phone was unlocked but after reconfiguring the MEdia Net settings and SMS settings i cant access the mobile web. i get an error message that says "GPRS not available. check status of services." i have checked the setting with cingular and my account allows me to access media net. there is a "G" underneath the antenna strength bars, and everthing should work unless there are some hidden setting i dont know about.
every time i send a text message i get a message that says " message sending failed" but i know that the text message gets sent to the recipient and i can also recieve text messages just fine. i have the correct setting for gsm with the phone number and all but still have the problem.
one other problem the phone is in cingular extend at the top. i am in my network and i know i am not roaming. i have tried the *#7037# reset to try and get to factory settings but i just get all of the t mobile stuff right back. and then i have to start all over agian with the same results.
please guys help me.
is it possible to have the phone reformatted and unlocked so i can use everything the phone is capable of?
