hi all, my carrier cityfone got bought out by rogers, and now my phone (SL55) displays the rogers cityfone operator logo on top of my wallpaper. previously with cityfone, i was able to set a transparent gif as the logo, but now i can't get rid of the rogers logo. any ideas? thanx.

Is the logo selection option now gone from the phone?
Because if it no longer gives you the option to select a logo, you can force a logo with Mobile Phone Monitor

re-apply the operator logo again, since the network ID has changed, it was lost, and you need to re-apply it cus 302-72 is the new fido id now, well in your area atleast

This kind of confuses me. I also use Siemens on Fido (now Rogers' network) and was previously able to set a transparent.gif (or any other .jpg or .bmp or .gif image) as my operator logo - so I wouldn't see the Fido name. Ever since the Rogers' network integration - my Siemens phone acts as though it is roaming out-of-area. That is - whenever I used to roam in the States my blank op logo would dissappear and I would see T-Mobile (or Cingular, etc). So basically what seems to be happening is my phone (and everyone else's now) thinks they are roaming on Rogers. Always. That is the underlying problem, I think.

Now how can we remove the op logo within these conditions?

Rogers network id will be set as your home network, maybe you havent received the update yet but you will, once you do, any operator logo images you set, will be displayed properly once again, because your phone will no longer act that its roaming. There have been countless number of threads on this topic over in the Fido Forum, so I'm just explaining to you from what I've read, as well as my own personal attempts, I have seen it with my own eyes, it will work.
