Is MDS faster than direct TCP browsing? I can see arguement both ways.

* TCP browsing is direct without latency added by a proxy.

* MDS/BES compresses and caches data for more efficent transfer.

Generally speaking, is one significantly faster thn the other?

I have used both. The MDS is definitely faster than VZW by speed tests.

I don't have the results right now, but MDS was significantly faster IMHO.
