Can't Active Sync

Is there a trick to sync your Outlook to the 5600? If there is, I need to know it. I have Outlook 2003 and our company runs on Exchange 2003. I have tried setting up locally and via exchange and i still can't get it to sync. Sometimes i get an error that say Outlook isnt installed (which is my favorite since obviously it is). I called Cingular and they wouldnt help. I called Audiovox and they wouldnt help either. I am not a complete idiot I dont think because I could get my Compaq Ipaq synced without problem.
