I emailed them and said that It wanst fair that the replacement SMT for my MPx wasnt fair because they sent me back a locked phone! I gave them my imei and asked what they could do...here's there response!

I have submitted a request for the subsidiary unlocks code. Please allow
5-7 business days for a response. Once the subsidiary unlock code is
provided, you will receive an email with the unlock code and
instructions on how to unlock your Audiovox SMT 5600 phone

Thats pretty normal. As long as you have been with them for atleast 1 billing period you can get an unlock code for any of their phones.

For a second I thought they were unlocking your ATT locked SMT5600. Cingular locked phone being unlocked by cingular - that is normal and is same as unlocking V551 or a RAZR or Moto V220 or even MPX220.

I am glad that you got what you wanted quick! The only thing you lost with the MPX220 is the 900 band which you will not even know if you are not travelling in asia or rural europe that much.
