I have recently purchased a Blackberry 7520 for Nextel. So far so good however when I direct connect the unit seems to say connected after I release the PTT button and people have a hard time getting back to me. Any suggestions as to a fix to this or has anyone else experienced this problem?

My DC works fine on my 7520 in Jacksonville.
Sometimes I wish some of the people I do tlak to could not answer.

When you take your finger off the DC button, do you hear the chirp that lets you know you aren't connected to the other user? If so, then your button isn't literally sticking. When this happens, take a look at your screen, and see if you notice the "data transmission" arrows going wild. Blackberry's do spend a lot of time sending data back and forth between the network/servers and the device itself. If your bb is spending a lot of time in data, then you may have an issue. I would suggest that you take the battery out for a few minutes, and then try it again. Nextel bb's have been known to "lock" into data transmission if you don't let pages fully load in Reqwireless, or in the native html browser, or if you use the ESC button to close either browser while it is trying to load or anything.
Hope this helps.

The newer BlackBerryOS fixes most of the "lock" problems, to the best of my knowledge. Make sure you download the latest BlackBerryOS version 4.0 - There's download links available from www.BerryFAQ.com.
