Hey guys..ive setup gmail on my smt5600 from the gmail faq's out on the net on how to setup on smartphones...it all works, and checks the mail

but ive noticed 2 things

first...it doesnt auto check...ive set it for 15 minutes, and then tried 1 hour as well, and nothing...it just doesnt auto check...i hard reseted the phone and tried again same thing...

other thing...it takes forever to retrieve the headers...and my gmail is setup for pop access, and to delete mail after its downloaded...but the mail is still all in my gmail....

so nothing seems to be working as it should with gmail/pop3 smartphone access...any tips...

Hmm. Maybe it is autochecking, but erasing the messages from the phone before you see them. That's the problem I'm having.
Try this.

login to gmail, clear your inbox, logout.

set the phone to check every 15 minutes, then do a manual send/recieve to kick it off.

send an email to your gmail account.

wait, you should get a new mail icon/beep/whatever in 15-20 minutes. DON'T check the message, or play with the phone at all.

wait 20 minutes, see if the message is still there.
