SMT-5600 notifications, bluetooth, RF??

I just bought an Audiovox SMT-5600 (on Cingular) and for the most part really like the phone.
A couple of things bother me and I was hoping it is just user inexperience.
1. Notifications: Is there any way to get reoccurring notifications on this phone?? What I need is for the phone to keep beeping at me when I have a waiting message (voice or text) and keep beeping at me when I miss an appointment in the calendar. I do not mind spending a couple of extra dollars if there is good third party software to do this.
2. Signal (RF): This phone seems to do well in a couple of fringe areas, but sometimes (even in what I believe to be a good signal area), the phone gets skittish (meaning the signal bars go up and down constantly) and the conversation breaks up (although I have yet to drop a call when this happens).
3. Bluetooth: What profiles are supported?? I am having issues out the wazo on this one... My PC reports only DUN and Voice Gateway (assume that means headset), so how do you get ActiveSync to work via bluetooth without a Serial Port profile? My car seems to hate this phone (Chrysler Uconnect). The car will pair and allow me to make and receive calls, but will not show signal strength, battery level, voice and text notifications?
Although I have those issues, I do like the phone. Using it with the Jeyo SMS and Smartfilter software make it a dream come true.... but I do need to clear up these three issues or the phone is a no go.
Thanks.

Sorry no answers but I do have some of the same concerns. I would like to be able to have the reminders snooze for longer than a couple of minutes. I also noticed that I have accidently dismissed some reminders when the keypad is locked and it enables the dismiss key.
I have some of the same issues with reception - especially indoors. I can stay motionless and watch the signal bar move up and down and have dropped a few calls. I did see on another thread that GSM signals don't pentrate structures as well as other types.
Hope you get some answers.

I noticed the same thing with the fluctuating signal bars. Overall though, the RF quality has been pretty good. I haven't used the bluetooth yet so I can't help you on that.

Can't really answer your 1 and 2 questions, but I would say that 1 is definitely possible w/ some custom development on the phone, but I haven't found anything w/in the phone itself that provides notifications like this...if you find anything, definitely post back, I would also be interested in a piece of software like this...I plan on persuing some custom .NET software once I have time to play w/ the SDK and mobile platform tools w/ Visual Studio, but it'll be awhile before I'm up to speed on the smartphone APIs.
On the last question, BT, the phone does do BT over ActiveSync as a com/serial connection to the desktop, so it does work...I ActiveSync my 5600 at work (calendar only) and at home over BT (contacts only) and internet access w/in the house...so it does work...as far as 'how to', I have a PDF doc I found online thru a post on this forum...check out the following and as mentioned, follow it step-by-step b/c the first couple of times I did this I got click-happy and tried to bypass things in these steps I thought I had already setup and it didn't like it...
SMT 5600, ActiveSync via Bluetooth

if i find something on the reoccuring notifications i will post back... let us know if you get around to developing that 'killer app' for this phone!!

Oh yea, btw...once I did this the first time and it worked, it hasn't had a problem since and I've removed and resetup the thing b/c of the 2 PC limitation w/ activesynce...until I got everything the way I wanted it...
also, i upgraded to activesynce 4.0 and it seems to behave a little better, vs the older version that comes w/ your 5600.
if you don't get it working, post back and maybe i can help you troubleshoot, it was definitely tempermental...i'm using the microsoft BT transceiver under SP2 if that helps also...i assume it'll work w/ any transceiver and BT stack that supports the com/serial profile...
