How do I configure my Gmail account to work w/ the push system? I am having trouble setting it up. Can I not use this email account?

Gmail does not work with Push, only POP.

I thought it was pop...or so they say on their web-site. Is there a way that I can have it forwarded to somewhere else first?

The best option is to get a FREE fastmail account (just google fastmail). Then you forward your mail from Gmail and then the fastmail account (an IMAP account) can push it to your Treo.

I personally use Fusemail, just because it's got a better interface, and because it will filter out spam (I use a POP Yahoo account). It is gonna cost you 20 a year though. It's worth it to me.

So check out fastmail and fusemail.

I got the right address put now fastmail is telling me this: "You have just used our POP server. This service is not provided at
your membership level. Although you may use your email software to access
the service at all membership levels, you must upgrade to use POP". SO I guess it's not free. Does anyone know of a free service?

Check it out, the Free level of Fastmail doesn't support POP, but it DOES support IMAP. First you need to have your gMail account Forwarded to your Fastmail account, then you need to enter the IMAP settings in your t650. Then
once all of the settings are correct, you'll be able to get your gMail on your phone.

If you're using VersaMail, it doesn't support PUSH. You'll still be able to get your mail, but it wont just arrive to your phone. For that you'll need an email client such as ChatterMail (which cost's money), etc.
