Ok so this is my first post in any forum ever.

Since I got the V551 I thought it was cool but there were things I missed about my old green screen Nokia 6300 and 6100. Yes I know I'm a little old school and I was kicking and screaming when my girl friend dragged me from the dark ages into GSM. One of the things I missed was the ability to simply see what time it is during a call. I searched all over and couldn't find any other complaints on this issue and figured I must be stupid for not being able to figure out how to see what time it is while I'm in a call. I even contacted Motorola and they said it was impossible on the V551. Something else I missed about the Nokia was vibe & ring ((now fixed with a little seem edit) (thank you to all the pioneers of moto hacking). The only other thing that really bugs me about the V551 is that the call logs are limited to 10. Does anybody know of a fix for either of these issues? Thanks a lot. Howard forums is cool.

In a thread by motoX named "How To Remove Operator logo/Date/Digital clock Display Without SEEM Editing" I learned everything needed to move the displayed time from the lower right corner to the upper right corner.

I changed
: operator text X2 to 111 (so it doesn't overlap clock space)
: digital clock Y1 to 17 and Y2 to 40

Moving the time to the upper right corner allowed me to see it while in a call, however the time displayed doesn't change while in a call.

You can figure out the actual time by mentally adding the time displayed and the call time. Annoying but better than not knowing the time at all.

Does anyone know how to make the phone keep counting time / display changes in the time during a call? thanks

The clock display does update just not always every minute. I have seen it go 5 minutes without updating the clock display. Leads me to believe the clock refresh is a very low priority when the phone is in a call. Assuming that is the case, can I bump up the priority on this?

The displayed time will refresh each time you press the speakerphone button.
