Time AutoUpdate problems - SX1

I hvae an SX1, and when the time is set to AUTOUPDATE, strange behavior occurs. The auto update occurs, the clock changed to GMT for a second or two (i can see the time change) and then it offsets against the timezone I setup within the world clock application.

So, that's not so terrible in itself, EXCEPT that i sync my calendar with this phone, and suddenly my appointments start to notify me!! That is really unacceptable. I figure, I must have something configured incorrectly. If anyone has some idea about what is going on, i would appreciate the help.

For now, I have disabled the autoupdate feature.
Also, i know the time that is delivered to the pohne is correct, because my other phone picks up the time correctly.
