I just went to Siemens webpage (www.siemenscordless.com) and sure enough, they lowered the price for the S40 from $ 329 to $ 259.

I guess there is hope for me....

That is weired; now it is $ 279.

Hmm... are you sure it jumped? I could have sworn it was $279 when I looked a few days ago...??

When I checked last week, it was still $ 329. On my last visit, it was $ 259. After I posted my message, I went back to double check and it was $ 279.
Believe me, the $ 259 were there; I am normally very good with numbers (but maybe it was my own exitement that got me carried away...)

anyway, where would be a good place to buy the S40?

Posted by: Martin

I did not buy one so far; therefore I can't give you any first hand recommendation. However, there is a post in this forum [siemens s40 purchase] that lists an e-store where it is sold for 227 USD.

on second thought, maybe not UK.

HK? The grey-market ones are all out of stock, and a retail one is HKD$2xxx, which is USD$300.

You can buy new, unused and unlocked S40s on German eBay (www.ebay.de) for about $200, shipping not included.
