I recently bought a 512mb Sandisk memory stick pro duo from eBay, and i just received it today. After I put it in, i checked phone status to see how much memory I have. I was surprised to see that instead of 512000kb, there was only 478944kb in the phone. So there is around 3 or 4mb missing. I checked the card, there doesnt seem to be anything in it. I tried reformatting the card but it prompts me for a password that I never set. Is this normal?

The password is the code for phone lock and ericssons standard is 0000.

so it can actually support memory stick pro duo, not just duo? and is there a maximum memory the phone can support?

the phone will support whatever size of memory stick pro duo you put in.

if you really have this phone, pick it up and read the text printed on the side of the phone:

I have a 1GB SanDisk Pro Duo Memory Stick working in my Z800.

That is how the memory stick works. You can get a 2 or 4 gig one and it will still be missing a few mb's. The leftover is so that the memory stick can be accessed properly at least that is what i think. But i know that for a fact when you use and type of memory stick or sd card it will always have some leftover space.

Yep, same here, even if I reformat it... just like if you buya 120GB hard disk for your computer, you only get 111GB (harsh, I know, that's how they sell their stuff, I think it has something to do with 1024 beiing 1 of the next unit..)
