Hey i just got this phone and I am such a "rookie" for series 60 phones. I just want to know how to put programs in and download game, ringing tones, wallpapers and such.

Please help me. thanks, it would be appreciated...

not sure if all 6620's come with the usb datacable.. but if so.. just download Nokia PC Suite from the nokia website.

i don't even bother with the cable though.. i've been using my Bluetooth adaptor for so long.. i can't be bothered with wires...

Nokia PC Suite

u can try ir (not recomended), bluetooth, data cable or mmc card reader (highly recommended)...

If my memory serves - Rogers includes a DKU-2 USB data cable with the phone. Download Nokia Suite 6.5 (big file), install (all updated drivers for the USB cable are included) and you are in business.

I feel more secure with a USB cable transfer. Many others on this forum are Bluetooth die hards. To each their own.

Angel,

Rank newbie here, so pardon my ignorance!

I'd been synching my 6620 via the data cable (which is a PITA!). No BT dongle yet on my PC. But I DO have a built in MMC card reader. How do you sync with that? Also, I cannot seem to sync w/my PPC - 6620 tells me the PPC uses BT standard, not handsfree.

BTW, just got a replacement phone from Cingular - 2.41 on original and just started getting the infamous WSOD after being clean for 6 months. Replacement has 4.22.1 Cingular, so my ringtones don't work anymore. But I also replaced my 32 MB MMC with a new 128 MB (I know they have larger, but it only cost me $6!!) I copied/pasted via the card reader: 32MB - PC - 128MB.

I imagine I can transfer music and photos with the card reader, but I also have to re-sync with Outlook for my contacts, calendar. tasks, notes.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

i dont think u can sync with a card reader...since u do have to remove the card from the phone b4 hand..u can always sync thru bt/ir/data cable

File transfer or card replacement due to upgrade = card reader.

Back up data on the phone or update features (calendar, contacts) = data cable.

or bt as well..doesnt have to be cable

True - you say BT, I say cable = same end result. If you have it - use it!

true that

Thanks all. When I saw card reader mentioned, I hoped that someone had discovered a way to sync PIM info via that! Hate to say it, but the DKU cable isn't exactly like dropping the phone into a cradle. I've gone through two. I keep breaking the little plastic nub off on one side.

cant since u have to remove the card out of the phone

I think for a rookie the memory card reader would be your best bet. Just drag and drop for pictures, vids, music. If you want you can put instal files on the mmc and use the phone to install and u wouldnt need pc suite really. But you would have to take the card out of the phone.

Bluetooth is ok but I think cable is faster.
