Your settings look correct, you can go to my blog and verify....GPRS maybe down or having problems in your area.

Ive been trying for days to get these settings to work to no avail. Im almost getting ready to sell this dang phone. Can anyone help? Do we need to flash the phone on top of being unlocked? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Omega2008

You shouldn't have to flash anything....the settings are right....Maybe its its a network issue...call Cingular and find out.

Is this a Cingular phone, or an AT&T phone you are trying to use on Cingular?

Did you also do the following?

If you have a data plan with Cingular such as the Media Works package, you need to add proxy, GPRS, and MMS settings, while removing AT&T Wireless’ settings at the same time.
GPRS
• Click on Start > Settings > More… > Data Connections.
• Delete mMode proxy: Click on Menu > Edit Connections > Proxy Connections > Menu > Delete > Yes > Done.
• Delete AWS GPRS in GPRS Connections: Click on GPRS Connections > Menu > Delete > Yes > Done.
• Click Done to return to the Data Connections screen. All connections should be reset to Automatic.
• Create a new WAP connection: Click Menu > Edit Connections > GPRS Connections > Menu > Add. Enter the following details exactly:
o Description: Cingular GPRS
o Connects to: The Internet
o Access point: WAP.CINGULAR
o User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
o Password: CINGULAR1
o Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
o Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
o IP address: leave blank
Click Done, then Done again to return to the Connections screen.
• Create a new proxy connection: Click Proxy Connections > Menu > Add. Enter the follow details exactly:
o Description: Cingular GPRS (must match WAP Connection description above)
o Connects from: The Internet
o Connects to: WAP Network
o Proxy (nameort): wireless.cingular.com:80
o Type: HTTP
o User name: leave blank
o Password: leave blank
Click Done three times to return to the Data Connections screen.
• Set Internet connection and WAP connection to GPRS (Cingular…).
• Click Done to return to Settings screen, then click the Home button.

Internet Explorer
• Launch Internet Explorer and go to Menu > Options > Connections.
• Make sure Automatically detect settings is unchecked.
• Select The Internet to use, then click Done. Alternatively, if you select WAP Network, the graphics will come in as 1-bit, black & white images. This is good for quick surfing.
MMS (Multimedia Messaging)
• Click on Start > More… > More… > Configurations > MMS Settings.
• Make sure the following details are configured:
o Retrieve Immediately: checked
o No. of Attempts: 3
o Connect Via: WAP Network
o Photo Resolution: Original resolution
• Click Done to save the settings, then go into MMS Settings again.
• Click Menu > MMSC Settings > Menu > New.
• Enter the following details exactly:
o Name: Cingular GPRS (must match WAP & Proxy Connection descriptions above)
o MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
o WAP Gateway: 66.209.11.61
o Port: 9201
o Max. Sending Size: 300K
• Click Done to save settings.
• Select Cingular GPRS, then click Menu > Set as Default.
• Select AT&T MMS, then click Menu > Delete.

I am sure I should credit the individual that posted this over on Smartphone Thoughts, but I can't remember his name.

Ok, it was medianet sites that werent working. For the WAP Connection on GPRS settings, it should 'Connect To' where? The Wap network or the internet?

Posted by: blueis300

Well I got text messaging to work but not the internet still, guess Ill keep at it.

Ok, try this. Go HERE .
In the last sentence of the first post is a hyper link to a detailed package (zip) that has EVERYTHING you will need to use your unlocked AT&T phone with your Cingular SIM cards. BTW, I don't recall you saying if you have the Medianet package for data.
