s710A R1A033 Firmware, any newer?

I have the R1A033 Firmware on my S710a which I got from a corporate orange store on 6-18 (June Eighteenth). I have read on the SE forum that there is a newer firmware out, but apparantly Cingular is not carrying it.

Can anybody provide any links to anywhere this new image/program may be acquired from? And what is the best program to use for flashing, so far I've ordered a DSC-11 generic serial cable.

You got yourself an older stock phone. All new s710a's from Cingular are shipping with R2A. The difference in menu speed is signifigant, as is the ability to turn off the shutter.

At this point the only method I've seen for upgrading firmware is sending your phone away for someone to upgrade the firmware for you. Unless this has changed in recently (I haven't been keeping up, just finally got a S710a with the R2A firmware), it's probably easiest to just go back to Cingular and ask if they have one that has the R2A on it (yours should have R1A or R7A on it).

Quicker, huh? Hm...

I may have to give this a closer look.
