I travel all over the South East US, my average month I am on the phone 6,000-7000 minutes. I also travel in a number of remote areas that I either have No signal or very little signal.
I currently use a MPx220 and I carry a HP 4705 PDA I was hoping to have an all in one solution. BUT good RF in very important as is hopefully the ability to Keep using Outlook.
I would appreciate any suggestions, I have been looking at the SX66 & the Trio 650 [I have heard there are a lot of software upgrade issues with the Trio] I know the SX66 is no longer made by Siemens it is now made by BenQ in Taiwan but I don't know if that will be a issue.
Thank you in advance for your input and suggestions. I am currently not under a contract and I will probably get the same phone for each of 2 sons on College and a wife that travels locally on the road to.

I personally wouldn't suggest the SX66, particularly if you're worried about email. The lack of keyboard would make typing out an email a big pain. CHeck out the Treo, though I have heard that they have software issues, resetting and the like, there is also a new fw out for them that should help. You may wanna consider a blackberry, also. Aside from that, you could go off-Cingular and try to find a 9300b, it's a Nokia with a full keyboard that folds, laptop style into a phone, I think it would be real handy for what you're lookin for. There are also a few new HP's out on Cingular that would work for you, though I believe they are only available in select markets.

well e-mail isn't 100% critical, I do go online with my notebook whenever I can find a Wifi connection. I thought that the sx 66 had a keyboard built in?

The SX66 is made by HTC, not Siemens or BenQ...

The pictures on phonescoop shows a keyboard...

And so does the Siemens Web site:

Lol. You're right. I was thinking about the last time I was in a store playing with it, it wasn't slid down. I recall playing with it a bit, that keyboard is difficult to touch-type on, the buttons are nearly flush with the backing. They feel more like speed-bumps than buttons. The Treo's keyboard is MUCH better and easier to use.

Wirelessly posted (MPX220: MOT-MPx220/1.430 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220))
eten m500, if you're not worried about a cingular branded phone. There is a full screen keyboard program that works well for PPC phones. Sx66 is big, but if you're used to carrying 2 devices, shouldn't be an issue.
