no matter what i do, i cant get this **** to get into my pc via activesync via blutooth.

i created ports under ten, which were incomming in my bluetooth progam...and i connect it via usb few times, so my f***n fone can see that i have ports Under 10, so then i click connect via bluetooth and it just sits ther and says connecting. i flashed the device in hopes that it just doesnt sit at that screen......who else has had their mpx220 sit at that screen that says connecting, but never does????

mucho help needed.

There has been discussion of this in some other threads so I won't go into great detail. A few questions:

1. When you tried to synch the phone using Activesynch did you select the AS profile on your phone in the Activesynch application?

2. I know it is an obvious thing but did you turn on bluetooth on your phone before trying to synch...don't laugh I made the same mistake.

You can search HOFO in this area and find detailed info on how to synch via bluetooth. It took me a while but I stuck with it and finally got it to work. Its worth taking the time to work through it, I like being able to have my phone autosynch.

if you're willing to try Active Sync 4.0, it will work with comm port numbers up to 20, i've used AS 4.0 with ports 14, 20 and now i'm using 10. before you take that step (to 4.0) read about what you'll be giving up; e.g., wireless sync if you use a pocket pc.

Here it is: THE BULLET PROOF GUIDE.

http://www.psychoman.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11.0

Download the zipped pdf file to your PC and follow its directions to a tee. Do not skip a single step, and reboot your PC and phone when it tells you to. This worked for me the very first try.

If you do not have BT single digit ports available, read my post here on how to get them back.

dude I feel your pain... or rather I felt your pain. I spent a straight 20 hours (over night too) working it out and then gave up and went to bed and got it to work the next day... I even sacrificed tennis to make this work.

Alright, use AS 4.0 then u dont have to a hassle with low port numbers and all that.
Then make sure u've already created a com port with your bluetooth software...I'm sure u already did that. Remember that port number.

THEN GO TO ACTIVESYNC AND IN FILE>CONNECTION SETTINGS, MAKE SURE YOUR COM PORT SHOWS UP IN THAT LIST OF COM PORTS! IT HAS TO SHOW UP OTHERWISE IT AINT GONNA WORK!

Then make sure all your settings are fine in AS then, on your phone, choose to connect.

One more thing, unpair and delete ur device from the bluetooth software. You have to create a com port before detecting your phone. After making ur com port, then detect and pair ur phone. Then make sure that port shows up in AS then u should be able to connect.

What bluetooth software are u using? The Windows one or the Widcomm one? or something diff?

Getting a smartphone to AS over Bluetooth reminds me of setting up a modem on a PC in the early 1990s. Anyone else? Yay for COM port conflicts. In fact, I haven't even had to think about a COM port for nearly 10 years.
