n840 video converter here!

I found a great video converter for the n840.

turns out, the n840 follows the same NTTDoCoMo Ring-Tone-Motion, as the n900 series phones in Japan, surprise surprise haha

so

choose 900i series handset from the list when it starts up and choose english for the language setting. then as long as you cut your videos for the right length, it will convert them to a playable 3gp format for the n840 and cap the size at 300kb, which is perfect.

still requires a bit of work to get the right size avi/mpg but at least this does the 3gp with all the default settinsg properly and works everytime.

Nice...got to try it out.

What other stuff is common between the two phones? Maybe some other lower level memory hacks where we can delete some sound files or something?

if there was a way simply to just turn DOWN the camera shutter noise i would be fine with that... its so annoyingly loud..sound 2 isn't too bad tho

hahaha...is it that obvious what sound file I want to delete?

Honestly...how am I suppose to take spy pictures with the camera going all crazy everytime I take a picture? :evileye:
