Just wondering if there are any versions of the 6230i that has the 850mhz band? Just wondering..

if you mean the 1.3 megapixel 6230i no...no 850 band yet
perhaps in the near future but by then nokia will be offering the quad band 6270 that will be hot off the blocks.

no it has the 900 band
the 6230b that cingular re-released which is ENS capable and has the bluetooth bugs worked out is sometimes referred to as the 6230i but it's not the higher resolution, 1.3 mexapixel, greater internal memeory 6230i that is found overseas in europe.

like i said though, imo, if it is released in a few months, it's not going to be that big of a deal since all of those other new nokia's are coming out.

yeah i really don't know if cingular will be releasing the 6230i??
im getting tired of waiting for it and i think i might just get the 6230 within the next month with no contract
then just use the discounted price for one of the newer releases when my contract is up and they come out.

ya..that's probably what I'll end up doing.. I really want the 1.3mp..but I guess I'm just gonna have to settle for the current 6230

well i wouldn't call it settling...
i look at it this way, you're going to pay i'd say $100 more just for the higher res screen and the megapixel camera.
so you're saving yourself some money and im sure the camera even at 1.3 mp is not something you're going to use to print photos and show the family
