Whats similar to a 6230 but has a larger screen?

I have a Nokia 6230b and love everything but the screen, its just too small. The T637 looks nice but it doesn't have speaker phone. The K700i looks nice too but it doesn't have a memory expansion slot.

Any suggestions for something that runs on 1900 and/or 850 (don't care if its 900)?

Price should be at or below ~$200 on ebay.

Any phone manufacturer will do.

Thanks!

The only phone I can think of off the top of my head would be the K750from Se, but it is still kind of pricey.

6620 has a bigger screen, and can do everything the 6230 can, and more.

expandable memory, stereo speaker, larger screen, mp3 player and a few more things worth noting.

E398 doesn't have the 850 support, otherwise it would be a great choice

I originally got the 6620 when I signed up with Cingular. I didn't like its shape and size or the keypad layout very much. They joystick was awesome though. I'm on the fence with the Series 60 phones. Theres a lot of menu lag to put up with and other than the cool factor, I really had little use for 75% of the phones capabilities.

I've never liked the MOTO OS (V710 was the last one I had and I hated it) but the phone looks very appealing. The lack of GSM 850MHz doesn't bother me much because I think everywhere I go there will be a 1900MHz signal and if not I can just use the 6230 and then decide on whether or not I should keep the E398.

I'm really leaning towards the SE's I just like the way they look. I wish i could test out the OS myself w/out buying one. The T637 is very cheap and although I would be giving up MP3/FM support (don't use either in the 6230) and speakerphone, the larger screen MIGHT make up for that.

Any thoughts on the T637?

the t616 was crap i thought, but the t637 is pretty nice
much better reception, nice screen (seems low in resolution though, maybe isn't a TFT??) and clear incoming calls
i would look into buying one it but like you said no mp3/fm support and also no spearkphone, i've only used a friends and he really seems pleased with it although he doesn't need a phone for bells and whistles

I used to have the T637 and loved it. The GUI was fantastic, RF was great, BT sync never a problem, and the rudimentary PIM actually worked pretty well. It is also lightweight, has a beautiful screen, nice responsive keys, and looks nice. Only downside for me was no 900, a pretty bad camera, and the cheap-ish plastic casing that scratches pretty easily. Regardless, I would get the T637 again in a heart beat.

Audiovox SMT 5600.

it's about the same size as the 6230, and has a bigger screen. It's also a smartphone too!

Siemens S66?

You know, I've battled with this very same problem. In the end, I went with the 6230.

(Price are from Amazon after rebate w/2 yr contract)

-Moto was not an option. Worst UI in the world. And why are there so many navigation buttons?! I turned down a Razr for free.
-Siemens S66 was tempting. Larger screen, but limited mp3 playback. Also, the buttons are a bit annoying. Sexy 1.3MP cam though. $50.
-SE K700/K750i were considered for a moment but they don't support 850MHz.
-6620 was SERIOUSLY considered for -$25. But it's slow, weird keypad layout, and didn't have the mp3 support of the 6230.

The 6230 handles the PIM functions I need:
-Contact list with phone, street address, email
-To-Do List
-Calendar with appointments

That's all I need...that's all anyone needs in a PIM. Nokias have the best RF. And although the screen is a bit small, c'mon, you're not watching movies on it. Think of it this way: the smaller screen saves battery life

Just a note, a quick trip for the 6620 to Evan at iUnlock.com can get you the unbranded fw that supports MP3 ringtones. And it'll play MP3s just fine, just the Cingular version won't use them as ringtones for some stupid reason. Not quite sure what you mean by "weird keypad layout." Seems to me it's the same as the 6230, just the extra s60 buttons (menu, clear, and pencil) and the rest of the keypad is a bit fatter. The menu, however, is admittedly slower than the 6230. And I think that the OP wanted to get something other than the 6230 so that he COULD watch movies on there. That's one thing that I enjoy about my 6620, with Smartmovie, I can fit an entire movie on a 128MB MMC, and watch it on a decent-sized screen with my BT headset and be unnoticable in class.

Oh the pleasure of not being in HS anymore

If you're in college and watching movies instead of paying attention, shame on you for wasting your tuition
