Best phone when it comes to EDGE, RF and features

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I need a phone with EDGE Support, VERY strong RF, the all important BLUETOOTH and a large LCD (I'm visually impaired)

i've been looking at the V3, V551 and the V635. I'm leaning towards the v635 but wanted some input from the guru's.

thanks guys.

unless i have a lemon, which i don't think i do since i get excellent battery life and no software issues, i would stay away from the v551
i hardly ever drop it and the hinge is starting to get creaky and i can spot a small crack from flipping it open and shut
also, the screen gets marks on it cuz the buttons are too close to the screen when you shut it so the buttons hit the screen everytime you close it
...can be very annoying

how bout the nokia 6620? not a flip but has everything you need.

the flip creaking issue and the crack i have no problem with since I usually upgrade a little under every year. Motorola is notorious for the keypad scratching the LCDs (i had that issue on the i90, and my friends i830 is scratched to **** from the keypad) I usually throw a PDA protective cover over the inner LCD.

While the 6620 is equipped nicely, i've looked at it and it's just too wide for me.

what about the V3 (even though it lacks EDGE) or V635

i was thinking about a v635 for myself and it just seems like a phone that would be really buggy, i don't know why but i just think that way
with the v600 issues and even v400.
also i hear things about people getting a europe version with the charger having the different prongs, firmware, and such...i mean you could always get it flashed somewhere but thats like $40... it's just little things that would annoy me.

v3 seems nice to me, but like i said im not a big fan of moto after this v551 which i loved for the first two weeks. also my friends have the same problems as mine.

the only thing with the v3 is that it lacks edge and i personally think its too fragile...i like my phones to be able to take a few drops since i like to do a little boozin here and there and the phones have a tendancy to hit the cement

how bout that audiovox smt5600??

Depends on how much you want to spend, but it sounds like your needs would be especially well met with the sony s710a

i was going to get my v635 from howardforums.com so i figured it'd come with the newest firmware and the correct charger.

The best phone for all of those features is coming out soon. The Nokia 6682. It fits all of your requirements.

6682 may be expensive ($499 for 6681, phone only)
6230 is still an affordable, feature-rich phone

If you need the phone asap, then the SE s710a will have everything that you need. If youre willing to wait the Nokia 6682 will be the better choice IMO...

the price will be quite a bit higher and the alpha characters are not very large at all if you're visually impaired
