I Flashed and Flexed my phone with the files on motox.us for the versions in my sig. Everything seemed fine, until today...

I missed a call and got a voicemail, icon came on screen, used phone to dial VM: "Welcome to the T-Mobile messaging center..." problem there is I'm using Cingular...so i just changed the settings to dial my cell phone # instead, no big deal...

deleted my voicemail, hungup...now the voicemail Icon wont go away...what gives? this happened on my old v400 and v600 phones as well at one point...until i replaced them...am I just not meant to Flash/Flex my Moto????

thanks...
Mario

the voicemail icon is not a setting on your phone that you can change, its a message being broadcast by your network. leave a message on your number, then call your vm retreival number (not the same as calling your own number) then check the message, delete it, then exit the system properly, you might have to press * or # to exit correctly, depending on what your greeting tells you, then it will clear the icon. try and lettus know

just do the same thing Paolo said when you delete your message to exit hit.. *, * (thats the star key twice) to properly exit your VM and the icon should disappear

I was just logging on to ask about another icon that won't disappear on my V3. It appears along the top next to where the AIM icon would be. It's a voice bubble like you see in comicbooks with "..." (three dots) in it. It looks like the symbol seen in the manual for "AIM Message" but it isn't quite the same.

Earlier today I rec'd an email "chat" stock alert from Hotmail / MSN. I tried to respond to it for "m"ore info then not sure what happened. Could it be that this "chat" is still in progress out over the airwaves, and if so any idea how to resume/end it so the icon disappears?

I'm on Rogers.

Thanks.

could be try completely shutting down your AIM feature in your phone then start it back up and see if that does anything..

I had tried that, but the "chat" in question (if any - I've never actually used any chat functions on the phone) would have been via an MSN alert function.

Good news is that after a few more power cycles it's gone. Perhaps co-incidence, but all's well in any case.

Thanks for the reply !

ps- any idea if phone mods can be done if running Windown 98 SE ?

well, in my case, i hit the * numerous times, even spent 20 mins on the line with cingular, they even deleted my voicemail account and gave me a new one...it was an issue with the Flash/Flex, i replaced the phone and the problem went away...still telling me its not a software issue?
