My dad has an old Cingular phone that doesnt have a sim card. Ok..he wants to change phones. Can he keep his same number & get the sim card with his number on it, or does he have to get a whole new number?

definately can keep the number, he just needs to pick a GSM plan and a new phone.

Ok i forgot to add. I have a gsm Cing phone to give him that uses a sim card, but doesnt have one in it. Can he just buy a sim card? He currently has the basic plan i think 300 anytime mins & 1000 n/w.

He has a TDMA plan and is likely out of contract. He has to migrate to Cingular GSM. He can get the lowest plan and likely a free phone.

you would have to change that tdma plan to a current gsm so most likely you are looking at an increase to at least 39.99 a month
