Cingular Blue/ATT unlocked my Treo 650

Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming. I had to call customer care for another account issue, and just asked about the unlock code. The lady said hang on a minute, came back and gave me an 8 digit code which unlocked my sim. I still cant believe it.

anyways just thought I would share!!

If you are using an ATT branded Treo 650 then they would have to do so if not now then pretty soon. Soon Cingular will kill the ATT system and push everyone on the Cingular system, this included mandatory usage of the Cingular SIM card. Im glad to hear that Cingular is not being too much of a Duche to its ATT maketshares, just wondering if they are sharing the same courtesy to those with the ATT Treo 600.

did u get the name of the person? i've tried and tried again n again to get att to unlock my devices and failed. hope this is a change in their policy.

i have tried also, it sucks, they wont give me any unlock codes for my 650

Never mind. I tried to enter another carriers sim and it wont work. It must have not been the right code.

Has anyone tried the remote unlocking service being sold on ebay. They are like mid $30.00 price range but if it works it may be worth it. Let me know if any one has heard any feedback on this.

I used the $35 unlock service on Ebay and can now use both Cingular and T Mob SIM's in mine. Definately worth the dough!

This must be a "it depends on who you talk to" thing.

I asked Cingular for an unlock code for my ATT 650. They gave it to me and it worked.

I've been with a version of ATT for 12 years. And, I've got a 2 year contract.

I told them I needed the phone unlocked because I travel and that I was not going to switch carriers. I guess they believed me.
