More Ringtone Resources.

Posted by: sirius1722

Hey all!
I decided to make a thread with resources, for noobs and veterans alike, to either make your own ringtones, convert ones that are on the net or whatever! These took me a long time to find so.... Enjoy!!!

I found their aren't too many sites that have ringtones in .imy format and getting them sent is too expensive for me so I found plenty of ways to get ringtones off the net for FREE!!! (free is good!) The only catch is you need IR, Bluetooth or data cable...

To get ringtones sent to your phone, the ringers need to be in .imy format or I-Melody before you can send them.

For conversions from RTTL, E-Melody to I-Melody (most newer Ericsson phones use this)Download Melody Composer at:

www.christersson.org

Next we have to find the ringtones. Most sites want to send them to you for a fee, which I think is BS. However, as most of us who have looked for ringtones know, nokia ringtones are the easiest to find and sound the best (besides polyphonic) SO....Just go to your favorite search engine and type in "RTTL ringtones" RTTL being what Nokia's use. That's easy....as soon as you find the RTTL code all you have to do is copy and paste the code into the Ringtone converter and it will convert it into I-Melody and you send it to your phone or use Melody Composer to key it in.....

here are some sites that have RTTL, Nokia Composer code, or what not

This site has many, many FREE SE ringtones in the form of keypresses (for those of you w/out data transfer ability)
http://www.mrtones.com/home.mt?m=8

RTTL codes....
http://www.free-ringtones.tv/

Anime Ringtones......
http://anilarm.xl0.org/

Many ringtones in Nokia Comoser format
http://fir3andic3.tripod.com/ringtonesanime5.htm

Converter for Nokia Composer/RTTL/Keypresses to Composer/RTTL/Keypresses. Click on ringtones in the upper right then convert.
http://overtonez.co.uk/frame_me/?/tones/request.pl

Basically, just get any ringtone to RTTL (if it's in Composer or keypresses) and then send it over to the Melody Composer program and convert it to I-Melody and send it to your phone or use the export button to see T68i keypresses.

Sorry if all that was a lot or confused you, but I'm too lazy to see if it makes sense...... if have any questions, post them and I'll get back to them as soon as I can. See ya and have fun!

you shouldn't need to convert it....the site has all the keypresses for Sony Ericsson phones, however if you're wanting to convert it to .imy, you're better off just inputting the keypresses on your phone

Posted by: Timsta

you just press the numbers as it is shown along with the ## and things like that. After you are finished.. just press yes and it saves it and all. and you can hear it too.. sometimes for mr. tone rings.. u have to set the pace/speed of the ring tone too. sometimes it just goes way too quick. or wayy to slow.

Ok.. still looking for Lord of the Rings ringtone... theme song.... anyone.. help... hellppppp!@

Finally a joke that explains what it's like to be Canadian...

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six
days. Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the
seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a
deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the
clouds, "Look Michael, look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?" "It's a
planet," replied God, "and I've put LIFE on it. I'm going to call it
Earth and it's going to be a place of great balance." "Balance?"
inquired Michael, still confused. God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while Southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people," God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one
will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel, impressed by Gods work, then pointed to a large landmass in the top corner and asked, "What's that one?" "Ah," said
God. "That's Canada, the most glorious place on Earth. There are
beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and an exquisite
coastline. The people from Canada are going to be modest,
intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found travelling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hard working and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace. I'm also going to give them super-human, undefeatable ice hockey players who will be admired and feared by all who come across them."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed; "What about balance, God? You said there will be BALANCE!" God replied wisely. "Wait until you see the loud-mouth bastards I'm putting next to them...."

PAST THIS ON IF YOU ARE CANADIAN !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm!!! Somewhere in that joke it mentioned "intellegent". And undefeatable hockey players??? "Go Wings"

Posted by: crazygreek

What! You like the chicken wings???? What country won the gold medal in the olympics? canadians. A canadian team is best in the east and a canadian team is in the top 3 in the west. at least 50 % of all NHL players are canadian. how can you beat that?
well I hope that proves it to you all and does anybody have an answer to my original question? please I am desperate!

he is american. of course he will cheer for american team

The standard ringtone format will be MIDI, but I also believe that it can do I-Melody and E-Melody as well. As for WAV-->MIDI conversion, I have yet to find a program that actually does it... the ones I have found (only like 2-3) totally butcher it to the point that it's not recognizable anymore.

Posted by: DigitalKL

thanks for the answer.

yes i just tried one wav to midi convertor and didnt like the results.

ok then is there a wav to i-melody or e-melody?

how do i transfer this tunes (midi, i-melody, e-melody) to the T610? bluetooth?

thanks

Nope...no wav to either I or E Melody .... you're better off trying to punch in the notes into the composer.... There's no way of getting WAV files effectively into like MIDI or RTTL...

Are you looking to convert a song you like? Try some of the sites that I mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

As for transferring tunes, you can do it via Bluetooth, Infra-red, or a data cable. IR is the easiest and you can use for all sorts of things.

hi,

no im trying to convert some star trek computer sounds, no voice. hehe...

Of course! In the Melody Composer program there should be a button labeled "export" then just select the "t68i keypresses" radio button. Then go into the Composer on your phone and key in what it tells you to. Hope that helped!

does any one know how to put Polyphonic ring tones instead? What format is that? .??? If there is what program can i use to convert wav/mp3's into it. Thanks

Posted by: sirius1722

Poly ringers? Is this for your T300? If so, poly ringers are generally MIDI format. They are super easy to find and might require a little tweaking (discussed in this thread...I think) but they're everywhere on the net so use Google and search... Happy hunting!

there's some programs that will convert wav to midi (and of course mp3 can easily be converted to wav) but they sound terrible... seriously... but if insist on trying it try searching google or downloads.com for a wav to midi converter

you're probably better off just searching for the midi file -- google, kazaalite, etc

Sick of browsing through tons of bad ringtones? Here's a few that sound awesome on the T610...

http://www.msu.edu/~rozwado1/midi.htm

There's only a few, but they're all high-quality, loud, and cropped to 30 secs. Enjoy.

Posted by: junglegirljlt

I would like to find free ringtones that I can send to my phone for the t62u, where would I find those? I don't want to have to type anything in on my phone....thanks in advance...

Posted by: Fire14

I have been trying to get an answer to that as well, I just got the T62u and have not been able to find a download or SMS site. Sorry i can't help but if i find anything i will reply back.

Posted by: junglegirljlt

Thanks! Cingular wasn't any help at all when I asked them, all they say is to go to their site...but the ringtones aren't free...

Posted by: Fire14

From searching the AT&T wireless forum i found a thread about the tones and they say go to esato.com and select ringtones/ monophonic and the tones will work on the T62u even thought they don't say it's supported.
Hope this helps and i am going to try it tonight to see what happens. Ringtones

Can I download one right to my phone? If so, how do I enter a '~' into the address on a T610? That symbol seems to be missing from the list of available symbols.

Posted by: oodude69

I'm very confused. I see the numbers and symbols on the mrtones.com page, but I don't have a clue how to enter them in my T610. I go to Pictures and Sounds | Music DJ, and now what???

Feeling very dumb....

because your (computer) speakers will always make the ringtones sound better than the speakers on phones

kind of like how your computer monitor will always make the backgrounds better than it would look on your phone's display

Hi! There are a few applications around that can easily(ish) change volume and / or crop midis.
I use Anvil studio (freeware) or PSMPlayer (also freeware)
I took the liberty to modify the yu jian-tune (cranked all channels up to max vol.) please try it and see if it improved any!
Cheers!

Do you want to edit or transfer ringtones??
If you canīt find the apps mentioned in my last post, youīll find them on my site: www.snigelpost.org

As for transfering via IRDA, you donīt need any application for that. Just right click file you want to transfer and choose "send to"/"nearby computer" if i remember right (I use swedish Windows) anyway, youīll figure it out

download the MIDI file, turn bluetooth on on your computer (im using an imac, and to turn it on click that bluetooth logo to the left of volume in the upper right hand of the screen; im not sure how to do it with windows) and on your t616. just hit "more" from your main screen and go to "turn bluetooth on".

have your phone near your computer and select "send file" or whatever it may be on your computer via bluetooth. select that file, and then your phone should come up as a possible destination, providing you have it set up. acknowledge the transfer on your phone, and it will save itself in My Songs.

hope that helps! <3

It doesn't have to be PCM. ie. It could have sounds similar to the "old phone" setting of the T610, but just a different pattern.

In the meantime, I'm using only the "old phone" tone. Everything else drives me up the wall.

Can yo send us some more of you ring tones. do you have any other hip hop ones and cartoon midis.....thanks a lot

defcon: sure thing, let me know specifically what you're looking for. a good site to visit is http://muwap.us/, either on your phone or your computer if you have a data cable (i have a dcu-10 for my t226). there's a huge number of midi files there, especially in the contemporary section, as well as unsorted. as far as cartoon midis, the closest thing i could think of was http://www.vgmusic.com/, which is actually video game music midis. i like street fighter midi files, if anyone wants, i can post some of them, or you can visit the link.

take care.

yeah, the t630 and the t610 both support MIDI files as ringtones up to 32 chords. no WAV or SMAF as far as i know.

on another topic (sort of) : does anyone know if the 13 sec memory trick will work on a t226? i was going to try it out, but i wanted to know if it would work at all before wasting my time?

thanks in advance, keep on ringin'.

UPDATE: as far as the muwap.us site i mentioned above is concerned, it is now a fee based subscription site, so the best place to get ringers (i.e, MIDI files) IMHO is MYT610.NET.

LOUD ringtones!
plays just as as loud as original SE tones

Hi guys

Do you know where I could find a "click" ringtone : the phone just "clicks" instead of "ringing out a melody". In a meeting, I would like to have a small tiny click (like the one when you get a message) instead of a vibration, or anything else...

Thanx in advance

Bodu

Hi everyone,

I am trying to combine all my ringtones.
ALready have more than 1000 (most of them of 2003/2004)!!!

So if u want to take a look, check out my site.
Go to http://www.ringtoness.tk "downloads", there u will find the latest ringtones (Powerless, PIMP...)

The server of the site (ricardo.nl) sometimes sucks, then I advice u to try it later... It's really worth it.
Hope u will find your ringtone!!!

I was wondering about the same. I loved my T68i SonyEricsson's non melody rings. I would love to have that on my T616 as none of these poly rings sound like a real phone.

anyone with a site that has REAL phone rings (not melodies ect...)

I was trying to find it but I will sooner find some hungarian folk music than that LOL.

Anybody knows of a good site or search engine to get spanish ringtones for my T68i?,
It's ok, if they're midis.
Thanks..

Anyone knows the name of the tune in the Citibank commercial? The one which a fat lady posting a "Reward: Lost hamster", and then a stupid guy reached in and got peppersprayed? It would be so cool to use that song as the ringtone.

Posted by: MaximaSE

is midi the only format SE phones accept? I have a t616 and was wondering if like MMF formats would work. MMF and similiar formats sound much better.. Used to have that on my samsung phone. Basically any format that plays songs instead of meliody's for my phone is what im looking for.

Posted by: devil_withcause

well i donno about any other formats but SMAFs [MMFs] are not
supported by SE phones, i think SE phones only support 32 poly
MIDIs

Posted by: Strumpan

PsmPlayer let you edit and convert from MIDI to SMAF and vice versa. What I know, SMAF only have 16 channels to play but MIDI is unlimited?

You can fins some MIDIs (and SMAFS) edited as a ringtone should be (Volume and length) accessable through WAP here:

hey,

can anyone get the ringtone FROM a sean paul song...the song is From Head To Toe, and you can hear a ringtone in the back playing with the beat...i've heard the beat before, just can't remember where...

anyways, i tried to poly the mp3 myself, but i couldn't get it, and i tried to make it on my z600, but that didn't work either...

so if somebody can show me where that is it would be greatly appreciated...

thank you

Anyone know a program that converts mp3/wav -> MIDI in poly? I could find only a few programs and they force filters upon conversion, so i get pianos/violins/flutes while trying to get Nirvana's Breed ringer. It's not a pretty combination, and there appears to be no Breed ringers on the net.

!!! www.gsmmedia.tk !!! very very good server! screensavers, wallpapers, ringtones, themes...all FREE, not register!

Any person have the weekend in midi??

Posted by: swingergsxr

Is there any way to record you own ringtones on the t637? It like many other phones has a voice recorder but seem like you cant use the memos for ringtones. This upsets me i know there has been older phones that could do this and wonder why the feature has been removed. Also can midi ringtones have voice in them like real music ringtones? If so how?

thanks much, sorry if these were asked before but i cant find the answers.

Posted by: Michaelbtjetzel

these are all good resources but I am interested in getting some good old fashion rings, I have specific ringtones for all of my friends, but I have been unable to find any sites that just have rings. It really irritates me that my t637 doesent have any normal rings, they are all melodies of some sorts. I need them in .midi any ideas?

thanks

BTW- I have about 1900 random midis in a zip and am willing to forward it over if anyone wants it. some really good tunes in there. let me know.

Posted by: swingergsxr

I have some plain ringtones i can send, to whoever wants em. Anyone know about voice rings on the t637?

Here's the thread I posted it at:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...381#post4800381

When I update I'll repost it there.

It's pretty good. I found a few songs it doesn't like, but over all, I'm happy with myself

Posted by: j3nnifers

this is somewhat unusual, but i felt if i had to ask this somewhere, this would be the place.

could someone make a ringtone out of the background music they play at Sony Ericsson CeBit 2005 product page?

the song kinda grows on you, and now i really like it

i have a SE S700i

thanks!

Posted by: btomasie

j3nnifers,
I just went on to that S.E. CeBit site and captured the first 60 seconds of it, and then converted it to an MP3. It's 938KB and sounds perfect!!

I don't want to get in trouble from S.E., so I'm not sure if I should have it linked here on a forum.

You can send me a P.M. with your email address and I can email it to you if you'd like.

Anyone know where I can find the old Ericsson standard ringtone, the name was HIGH, LOW AND MIXED. It's a simple "phone-ringing". I have it also at my old T68i, but not at the s700i

Posted by: marc-o-lishuz

dunno if you guys know... but i nab my mp3 ringtones from legit websites by finding the temporary downloaded mp3 file. just play the ringtone, and look for it in your "Temporary Internet Files" folder in the C:/Windows directory. it's where cookies are stored, and you can copy and paste the mp3 to your desktop or wherever. this won't work for mp3s that are embedded in Flash (swf) files.
but yeah... if you're too cheap to buy ringtones like me, use this little trick!

Posted by: hoy

hey guys.. i just got a P900 and am trying to get some free mp3 so i can use it as ringtones. is there any free site for these kinda stuff?

Folks,

I have some custom ringtones on my website. They are derived from my MP3 collection (some 100gigs). I recently came over from Sprint to Cingular and my old MM-7400 used M4a/AAC tones. I have all 3 formats on the site.

Goto http://buttrynet.dyndns.org

They are on the BNET forum main portal.

Note: I've been resampling them to 1-channel so the size is smaller. The M4A/AAC tones are still 2-channel.

Enjoy

I do it all the time. Cool Edit Pro is my favorite sound editing program.

As for settings, you can edit the sound file in mp3 (or just about any other) format you want. The S710a will play any normal mp3 file. Note that I say normal. I have not tried mp3 files sampled at higher than 128kbps. Some mp3 players will not go higher than 200kbps, plus the files get way too large.

Cool Edit Pro is NOT an entry level editing program. Just about everything on the program has some function. It takes practice to use the program. But once you have a good understanding of it. It's a piece of cake.

Sure it does.. There is a classic ringtone on the phone that just goes "ring ring". Well Cingular anyway.....

If that does not tickle your fancy, download my Twiki ringtone..

If anyone could make ringtone from the MGS3 codec sound that would be greatly appreciated. I have a ringtone from the second game but I'd like to have one from the third as well.

In case anyone can't sample it, I have one. However there's low level background noise that needs to be filtered out.

Again, any hellp would be greatly appreciated.
