Motorola v635 Voice Mail Issue

I am new to the forum, and new to the GSM community of phones. I have been a verizon customer for forever, but recently switched to Cingular. I have purchased a v635, of which I have read about some voice mail issues. Some of which I am currently experiencing. I tried a couple of different remedies which I have seen posted through out the forum but have not had any luck fixing the problem yet. Is there any one who would lend me a ear to help me with this issue. Thanks. The problem I am having is the VM icon will not leave once I have deleted or listened to the message. Also, once I have listened to and exit the voice mail system, I receive a text message with an icon@time and date? Also periodically I notice that the phone appears to be in roaming mode? I obviously can not access the internet either. Here are the specs for my phone:
Flex Version: SE5171AXXF10B4
S/W Version: R474_G_07.48.24R_A
DSP S/W Version: 62282800
If someone could advise me on what to do to resolve these problems I would great appreciate. I appologize if this has been posted earlier or somewhere else.

You need to do some hex editing on some files on that phone. Check out xlr8's guide for details.

Thank you. I will try this. Sorry if this post was bad. Also I noticed that you have a v635, are you using it with cingular? If so, do you have any issues with it?

Okay, that was dumb (asking if it was being used on cingular), but how does it function? I notice you are using with T-Mobile, do you have any issues with yours?

Mine will be here today by UPS

I will definatly note things that are corky, but most can be fixed by some sort of means or seems..
