I just got back from my local Cigular store and they have 11 of them. They opened one of them so that I could look at it, I can't wait until tomorrow!

The black razor is going to cost:

199/ 2 year
249/ 1 year
299/ no contract

I just called CS & my local store here in Vegas & no one has it...

Will it actually appear in the system magically tomorrow for them to know about it?

So theres nothing different except its black huh?

I think there's also some firmware differences, but I'm not sure what they are.

I tried to put one on hold but they wouldn't let me!

I really haven't had a chance to play with it much. My silver v3 is only about 6 weeks old so I guess I need to look at the two and compare them to see if there are any changes. It doesn't have vid record nor does it have EDGE (which I really was hoping for). Someone posted in the Moto forum that you really need to see it in person because pictures do not do the phone justice. That is very true!!!

Video record is really not important to me. I have used it once on my v551 since Dec. 2004.

I really wish it had EDGE though.

All the stores I've called today in the Dallas area (Plano) claim they have no black razr's...one rep said "probably later this month or august," and another said "probably in a week or two."

Is it normal for availablility to vary, or am I just being lied to? I'd rather not drive around to 10 different stores...

I just got my black razor and it looks awesome!

It looks a lot better inperson than it does in pictures!

I paid 300 for it w/o a contract, I'm going to wait until the v1150 comes out before I get locked in for 2 years.

Just returned from the store with my black razr. Here in Houston, I called all the stores at 9am. They all told me not to expect them for a couple weeks. I called the biggest store in Houston and asked for their Inventory Manager... he said that they were on the UPS trucks to be delivered today.

Took a few hours to get delivered, but now the stores have them. The store employees are clueless.

This phone is beautiful. I don't care for mp3 players or video. But the phonebook has is going to bug me. Motorola is seriously due for better software in that regard.

Yes, the keypad is silver. The case is a smooth, matte black. The chrome pieces (screws and Moto logo, etc) really make this piece pop. Opened, the black case seems to make the keypad and display really stand out. Very classy.

Oddly, the salesguy mentioned that he did not offer me a warranty because there is not warranty offered for the Razr's. That has me a bit uneasy. Other than that, the phone is great... considering that I've only owned it for an hour.

Just picked up my new black razr - Dallas stores got it with today's UPS shipment, which for my store was just an hour before I got there. Ported the number from Verizon in 10 minutes (was working as soon as I turned on the moto).

199 w/ 2 year contract, 249 w/1 year, 299 no contract, same prices as reported by other people

Any questions, just ask - although I may be scarce for a few days, hopping on a flight to new york now!

okay, so how important is it to have video recording capabilities when you have such LIMITED storage space on the V3 with no chance in hell with increasing that storage?

Well our store just got in an order of 80, already sold a dozen and had people asking to reserve one (learned our lessons after the last VIP promotion). It is a really nice look to the phone and although we fear it may scratch easily, the flat black look really is nice. Did notice some of the ring tones were different from our Silver model but otherwise no difference between the two devices. If anyone is in the SF Bay Area you should have no trouble tracking some down.

Your right about the ringtones... I don't think its so much different as it doesn't have a couple of the ones that are on the silver one. I think?
The other difference I noticed is the fit & finish of the blk. one I have isn't quite as good as my silver one; I think dust might get in the external display as the lens isn't sealed close to the phone. No big deal, i'm sure in several months I will have to have another phone!

Odd, the silver V3 is still outselling the black V3... Anyways after running through all the features I can only notice two ring tones being different, otherwise I really like the look of the black V3 except for how easily it gets dirty... Even one smudge and you will be wiping it down for the rest of the day

Both phones are really nice & the black stands out (& right now not so many people are walking around w/it like the silver) but I kinda still like the silver, one reason because the Cingular branding doesn't stand out as much; no offense to them... I can't decide which I like more!

Anyways, I don't think it should scratch since the body is anodized metal, not painted, right?

Got mine on Tuesday and love it! I put my silver one(with 150 hours and yes i put that in the ad) on ebay at $150 starting and $199 buy now option which disappears after first bid. Anyway, it ended up selling for $265 which included $10 shipping. So basically my Black one was free! Nice.

know whats funny is that these phones are easily topping out in the $320 to $340-ish range on ebay.

^ now why the heck would I spend that kind of money for this phone from a complete ebay stranger when I could just drive over to a corp store and pay the $299 (plus local sales tax) for the same thing?
